The exact meaning of this embossing is not known, but some think it is "Edwin Lewis Company" ... still an unusual piece. Some information about this piece is near the bottom of http://www.insulators.info/articles/neweng.htm Base flake in the back, couple little flakes on the wire ridge, one above the "E" but you can't even see it in the photo... about a 1/16" x 1" scuff on the wire ridge and one on the dome. Can barely see them.
