Two more from Russia (or the former Soviet Union). The unembossed, dark one to the left is an amber blackglass, and is opaque to light. It has some small flakes, and chips, and has lits of heavy straw marks. A very crude and unique piece, indeed. The "rabbit ears" is embossed with the Cyrillic letters D.B.Z. .ДБЗ, with №6 on the rear skirt. and has a decorative "spearpoint" to each side of the letters. Its larger sibling was on display at YPCIC, in Enfield CT last April 2006., and can be seen here: [id=148055827] Update July 4, 2010: It is now known (many thanks to Chris Tella) that the embossing D.B.Z.ДБЗ №1 stands for Donetsk Bottle Factory (Donetsk Butilka Zavod), which was located in Donetsk, Ukraine, also known for its coal mining and other heavy industry. The blackglass is apparently from Neman / HEMAH, in Belarus. СДЕЛАНО В СССР = Made in USSR |
