Seven of the drip points on this Hemingray 42 are pointed or conical, while all the rest are uniformly round. I don't think this was an underpour, but an incomplete machining of the mold. I'm speculating that the mold holes that formed the drips may have been machined in two stages -- first with a sharply pointed, conical drill bit, and then with a rounded finishing bit. In this case, it looks like the machinist never quite got around the entire mold with the second bit. Any other suggestions? |
