After a great weekend at the YUMA Tailgate Show, a friend & I headed to Quartzite in search of the elusive swap meeting fake insulator man that Dwayne spoke of a few weeks back, in hopes that I might get a couple of pics to post on ICON. Well, after searching high & low, about all we came up with were a few folks that had some common clear stuff from the local lines nearby. We were told that a lot of folks had packed up the week before and moved on to Tucson for the rock & swaps meets there. Before heading to the surrounding mountains to do a little Rock Hounding, we met up with a local lady we were told might have some glass we would be interested in. When we arrived, we were quite surprised to see all her glass layed out on the ground, in old wooden pioneer wagons and aroung the flower gardens turning SCA. She only had a couple of insulators among the hundreds of bottles, but turned out to be a 65 year veteran of Quartzite and a wealth of information, regarding the history of Quarzite & southern Arizona. Believe it or not, there is an Ice Aqua Beehive in the center in all these bottles (see next pic) We may not have found any insulators on this trip to quartzite, but did learn a lot about its history and found many nice rocks in the hills. I'll be listing some pics of the Yuma show in the next day or two
