An unusual piece I encountered while staking out an old farm/heritage show in my area. Probably taken out of service 50 years ago, and sat in a farmers barn ever since. It was covered in mud when I took it in and cleaned it up, and now I'm passing it on to a better home. The piece is a shiny, light aqua [030] Diamond CD 102, with the vertical bars. One side of the skirt has a lovely bubble in the dome, and the other has a light amber wisp. This beauty would be amazing underlit, as it is full of milky swirls running all throughout! The condition is not bad considering what this thing's destiny was when it was manufactured. It was designed to be used until it broke, so it's a miracle it's with us at all today. Anyways, the damage it does have consists of a pair of 1/4" pings on the side with the light amber wisp (left photo). One is on the lower wire ridge on the left side, and the other is to the left of the vertical bar. The only other damage is an unusual shallow, y-shaped stress crack on the inside of the skirt on the right side of the half shown in the right-hand photo. I can send photos if requested, but this thing would be hard to photograph, as it is nearly invisible. I'm asking $20 U.S. plus shipping for this milky Canadian gem. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. All the best! Let's make it $5.00 U.S. plus shipping. |
