That's one of the awesome things about this hobby - even the "common" and "new" pieces are 50 years old or older. How many other hobbies have that much history and age to them? Despite being just a 154, this piece would actually be quite old - probably dating from the 1920s, and the colour is absolutely georgeous - a strong, vibrant peach tone. This isn't the best part about this piece, though. This embossing style is VERY hard to turn up. Diamond P CD 154s by themselves are relatively easy to turn up, but with round drips, the style is unheard of! This is one of the few I have ever found in the wilds. Unfortunately, as this is probably one of the earliest 154 styles, the mould was machined with such sharp wire ridges that these pieces almost always have heavy gauges out of them. This piece was spared somewhat. The damage is limited to 3 chips. There is one small chip on the front upper wire ridge, off centre to the left, approximately 1/4" wide. Also on the front upper ridge, but off centre to the right is one large, flat chip caused by two adjacent chips. This joint-chip is approximately 1 1/4" long. The third chip is on the rear base. This chip is 3/4" long, and removed 3 drip points, and part of a fourth. The condition is worse than it sounds, and this piece will do well if you like unusual 154s as I do, or are looking to fill a gap in the collection, at least until a better one comes along. To be honest, though, I doubt a better condition piece of this embossing will turn up any time soon. I'm asking $8 plus shipping for this unusual beauty. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. All the best!
