Although probably the newer generation of G.N.W. TEL. CO. CD 145, if you've hunted on a CN line in Ontario, you'd realize that these 145s are a classic. It's tough to find an unusual one amongst all the aqua commons, though, and for this reason, I'm bringing you two out of the ordinary pieces this evening. The first, is on the left. It's the highly unusual and desirable steel gray or steel blue shade which these pieces come in. Under-rated in the guide, in my opinion, and quite difficult to find in good condition. This piece looks good, however, as the condition is VNM, with just a 1/4" ping on the front dome (visible in the photo), and a flea bite in the centre of the rear skirt. The second, is a more ordinary colour, but nice regardless. A shining aqua, it refracts it's colour more than most do, as it sports an impressive 1 solid inch of dome glass! The steel blue piece on the left has a more ordinary quantity at about 1/2". This thing is HEAVY! And, it's in VVVNM condition, with just a near invisible fisheye on the very top of the dome, a mere 1/8" in diameter. I'm asking $20 U.S. plus shipping for the steel gray piece, and $10 U.S. plus shipping for the dome-glassed specimen. Or, take both for $25 U.S. plus shipping. The price for the steel may seem steep, but it is a hard to acquire piece, and when you see the colour in person, you will appreciate it's sparkling and unusual colour! Trust me on this one! A classic, aqua gem I picked up at the 2004 national. I've since upgraded with a more local piece in better shape, so I'm passing this one on. It's a [040] in a shining light aqua. The condition is a bit rough, but for a piece this old, who's complaining? There is one 1 1/2" base chip which takes out the lower half of "SEPT" and and all of "13, 1881 NO". In addition, there are a couple slices off the wire groove. 2 in the front, one 7/8", and one 1/2", both upwards towards the dome. On the rear, there is a 1 1/8" area of roughness with a few small flakes stemming from it on the upper wire ridge. Lastly, there is a flea bite on the dome above the left wire groove. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. All the best!
