Shortly after hearing myths about insulators burried in pole holes i attempted to dig one up. I got about 1foot down and was allready board with it so i went home. (home was only 5 feet away!) And now, about 1 year later, i try to dig it up agin. I got down about 4 feet without any signs of the end so dad came up with this idea that uses a rail road tie as a jack to lift it out. Well wouldnt ya know it, it worked! After all this work we look down in the hole to see nothing. I got the grabber pole and attempted to use it as a probing rod. What we found was rather dissipointing. All we found was a large rock, maybe 1foot by 1 foot where the glass should be. Perhaps the myth isn't true? Or perhaps i was just looking in the wrong spot? All i know is that it's too much work if you don't know exactly where to look. That's me next to the pole stump. I am 5"5' so that stumps pretty big to dig up by hand! (i didn't, i got lots of help!) -Bryan |
