Greetings! This is a nice contrasting pair of insulators representing the old and the new. The first is embossed (front) A/HEMINGRAY/No. 4 (back) 4/PATENT/MAY 2, 1893 (rear crown) PAT. DEC. 19, 1871 - there are some minor pecks and a super shallow small chip above the base; there are 5 or 6 chipped drips some that cause a small amount of bruising; a shallow chip takes out most of the 1 in 1893 - the dome is super clear and you can see areas at the base on the mold line on both sides that were probably repairs to the original mold - both items add some character to this OLD piece. It has a very intricate molding system for such a small insulator...and very cool to have the two patent dates....especially when the 1871 date should have been removed by the time this piece was manufactured!! The second is embossed (front) NO. 9/WHITALL TATUM CO. (back) MADE IN U.S.A./2 - there is a small scuff on the ridge above the wire groove at the side and a shallow 1/4" chip on the ridge above the wiregroove at the back of the insulator; there are some small pecks around the insulator. Sounds bad, looks great!! Both have some damage, but both display VERY well. Take a look again at the picture and then remember.....these cool pieces would look good at your house!! They are being offered at $35 delivered to your house in the U.S. I accept checks (ICON or NIA members), money orders or even PayPal works for me. I can get this cool piece delivered to you in time to be put under the Christmas tree. Thank you for looking. I hope that you have a blessed Christmas and a joyous New Year!
