Today, I watched an episode of School House Rock (An animated show from the 70's) and it was about the nervouse system, and it used the example of a telegraph line running through your body sending messages to and from the brain, etc. There were telegraph poles with insulators, which were to small to see what they were, but it ws still cool to see in a science class, being a very boring day. It purked me up for the rest of the day. Anyways, the only picture I could find on line is above, but you get the message, I mean the telegraph! Here are part of the song lyrics: Hey, there's a telegraph line, You got yours and I got mine. It's called the nervous system, And everybody understands Those telegram commands And you know that everybody better listen! The central nervous system Is the brain and the spine. The brain controls the system And the spine is the line. Telegrams come in TO tell what's happening to you, Then telegrams go out To tell your body what to do.
