Iv'e been told by more than a few folks, that if I ever get the chance, "make it to the Ohio show". Well, I got the chance & went for it. Besides there being an incredible amount of great glass to see, hold & possibly purchase at this show, I'll probably remember the folks I met more than anything else. I finally got the chance to put a face to and speak with many collectors that I've either heard stories about or purchased glass from, as well as many, like me, just getting started in the hobby. The glass making demonstration by the Wilkersons was great & gives a real good feel for how it was done years ago. The banquet was a great way to wind down after a full day of walking the show room floor and spending a couple of hours enjoying the display awards (which were amazing) & good easy going conversation with those at our table. All in all I can't say enough good things about the folks that put this show together & all the folks I ran into there. I'll pass on the suggestion made to me several times, (if you ever get the chance, don't miss this show). P.S. I feel especially fortunate to have met & spoke with Dick Bowmen, a legend, & lucky to have landed this CD 132.4 before someone else got to it. Support your local shows, Dan Gauron |
