CD 159 Embossing Index: [010] (Dome) (F-Crown) (R-Crown) (F-Skirt) PAT. APR. 7TH 1903/ F.W. GREGORY (R-Skirt) (Base) Smooth Base (Color) Blue Aqua Condition: NM+ /VNM- This is a Rare Insulator in a great light Blue/ Blue Aqua color. These have only been found in the Donner Summit area of California on a very small stretch of Rail Road. These insulators are of a poor design, hence, they suffer from lots of Damage to the wire groove areas of the insulator. This one has all the Embossing intact which in its self is rare, as this was usually a heavily damaged area, and very few have the complete embossing. The square wire groove is one of the biggest flaws in this design, and was prone to heavy damage. Two views of the insulators profile can be seen here. The damage has been concentrated to the rear of the insulator. There is an arcing crack at the base and to the left of the embossing but is still in place. Chipping and thin slices can be seen on the insulator, predominately in the back, but there is some chipping at the front corners also. These are Rare in any condition, so don't miss this opportunity to add a very rare piece to your collection.
