Well, I have no idea what this is. Perhaps a part to a phone, or?? It is dark brown Bakelite in three pieces. The bolt holds them together. I guess I shouldn't use the word "rare" but I have never seen anything close to this... An oddball widget... The "base" is embossed AMERICAN INSULATOR CORPORATION / NEW FREEDOM, PA. I do not believe this is related to the "American Insulator Company" that made the glass insulators. ** UPDATE ** I understand the cup part shown on the right (and on the bottom on the left - picture is inverted?) is an ashtray. I do not konw the function of the other two pieces, nor if they are an original part of this piece. I have reduced the price now that I have some more information and some pricing information. $25 plus shipping...
