I am posting a scene painted depicting what could have been viewed at one time in British Columbia on the Collin's Telegraph Line (circa 1865-1867). This line was to be an ambitious effort to join North America with Eurasia via across the Behring Strait, but was abandonded upon completion of the Trans-Atlantic Cable. On many of the stretches a single line circuit was used with a 735 Tillotson hat on each pole. These insulators came in a nice variety of colors. This painting was on display at the Chicago national in 1997. I offer a glimpse to any collectors who have joined the ranks of the hobby since that time. |
