With very close and careful examination, a portion of the "Oakman's Patent July 26 1870" embossing can be seen at the base of the pinhole. The slotted pinhole was part of a unique design to secure the insulator to a threadless pin. Another great display piece with some amber streaking [id=160004867]. As you can see in the photo above, the reverse side has some problems with a skirt fracture and chipping, but that keeps it down in the affordable range for those that don't want to spend $1,750-2,000 for a vnm-mint example. Let's go with a very low price of $450!----The second threadless is a CD 735 Tillotson in a gorgeous teal aqua. There's a surface slice on the front side skirt, but luckily it missed the embossing. Other than that, just some commonly found surface annealing lines here and there (some are overly accentuated in the photo). Would easily sell for $1,500+ in better condition, so $495 should sound mighty attractive to any threadless collector that needs one. (Prices are plus actual shipping/optional insurance).
