The insulator on the left was acquired some years ago at a local flea market. . . I think! The one on the right was picked up yesterday at a antique store in Woodland, CA. According to a local mud specialist, Paul Greaves, these insulators were used exclusively in the Bay area of California and quite difficult to find. He knows of only two other examples in collections. Just to show y'all it really does pay to keep looking at those antique shops, thrift stores, flea markets, etc. Although it is much better to find this stuff in the wild domestic finds can be just as exciting and without the poison oak and bitting bugs! woof! ^..^
