This beautiful cobalt blue pilgram hat style insulator commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Southern New England Telephone Co. It was introduced to the insulator world at the 1978 Eastern Regional in East Windsor, Ct. Cost at the show was $5.00! The insulator was created by Roland Beeney and the Charter Oak Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers had them made. They were produced by Imperial Glass Co. They were first offered to the employees of SNET, but it was the insulator collectors that purchased the bulk of the commemoratives. They are skirt embossed 1878 SNET Co. 1978 over 100 YEARS OF SERVICE This piece sold for $50 plus shipping. BTW, that regional has been rated by many as one of the best shows, ever! |
