These offerings never last long, but I've managed to put together another interesting group of colorful mud this past week. From L to R : A weird, squatty signal in a greyish indigo blue with interspersed speckles of a more intense cobalt blue and a granular salt looking stuff. Next is Pittburgh 114 in a very mottled glaze that goes from a bright red orange to a yellow-tan on the high spots. Very grainy and mottled - much more than photo captures. Next we have a Westinghouse in a brilliant blue, mottled with a more intense cobaltish color. A nice one of these. Next is a grainy mottled dude in an olive green kind of color. Glaze is very drippy and did not take in several places on the skirt as you can see in the photo. A nice crude one! Next is a nicely mottled / drippy grey with blue Locke 44. Like the piece just described, this one also has a spot where the glaze and skirt did not like each other, resulting in a bare spot with the darker blue surrounding it ! The glaze colors also do an inverted "V" around the incuse marking for added character. This next one shows poorly, but is a striking silver and black and brown color with a very glossy glaze. Marked "OB" on the ear. It is a triple petticoat and sits atop an unmarked FM LOCKE pinbase that looks unglazed in parts and glazed with a light greenish grey glaze in others. Next is a super drippy blue signal marked "THOMAS" on the dome. A real good looking one of these ! And lastly is an unmarked "Roman Helmet" in a bright red-orange glaze. It has a little chip-looking thing off the tip of one ear, but you can see where it was glazed over part of it - like a mf'g defect - it does have a couple teeny flakes off the edge of this though. Otherwise, about perfect. $100 plus actual postage. |
