This is the first of a small set of pictures I took of the former Winnipeg Electric Company lines which had been suffering from many years of neglect and had somwhat fallen into disrepair. The whole system had been taken over by Manitoba Hydro about 5 years ago. Since then; there has been a massive citywide upgrade taking place although much of the older distribution is still very prominent on Wpg streets. Stil lots of glass up on these lines. This is a picture of a 1929 date nail holding a WEPC tag to one of the poles that will be shown in the following pictures.
