All of these are old and have nice crude drippy glazes, with the exception of the bright blue Westinghouse on the far right. Hard to find color in many of these not-so-modern pieces, so this is an unusual grouping. From L to R : A nice drippy inky blue-grey. Glaze is thin and grainy - beautiful ! Next one is a grainy pinkish tan with spots of indigo blue about every 1/4 to 1/2 inch over the entire surface ! - real pretty ! Next one is dry process piece. Glaze is a grainy tan with the heavier areas having an olive green color. Has a dot on the skirt of indigo blue just to add interest. Moving along, we have a very glossy, drippy blue unit with THOMAS marked on the dome. Next is a thick, heavy chunker. Color is a drippy light blue-grey. This piece is trimmed off center, so it is lopsided with the WG being much deeper on one side than the other. Next is a weird little squat dude in a deep, grainy blue-grey. Glaze is very drippy. Real pretty. Next is a another crudie. Color is a grey-tan with greenish tones in the drippy areas. Entire insulator is covered in trim marks (under the glaze) that look like it was scuffed with 36 grit sandpaper before glazing. The glaze color really highlights this great texture. Last is the brightest blue Westinghouse I have ever owned. Has a glaze flaw on the dome - kind if crude, open spot, where the edge is blackened. A nice, crude bonus for a usually perfect-made insulator. Nice group. $100 for the lot, plus postage. |
