It is difficult to capture dramatic vertical rise on film, but this shot gives a good idea how hair raising it to follow some of the old lines and miner's trails in the San Juan's. This is the Rio De Animas and THAT, way down there, is a D&RG train headed for Silverton, Colorado. Don't slip!
