This page is from the Andrae Electrical Supply Catalogue No. 38, copyright 1914. Bracket No. 143 is of the same construction as the bracket in question. Although this bracket is for threaded insulators it wouldn't be much of a stretch to think that it would have been adapted from earlier versions for the same application. As can be seen No. 143 is listed as a Roof or Ridge Bracket.
