After a couple days not that rewarding; many poles being impossible to reach because of heavy thorn brushes, we had great luck and found a line where many poles recently had been cut down and piled up at railway crossings or other places of easy access from the road. Many insulators were broken, but still a great number had survived intact. This was easy picking, and we rescued many nice pieces; some Fatties, a number of big P&T marked ones of Japanese origin, some pure white ones, one with very square shoulders, never seen before. A great find were especially a number of pieces made of a light gray clay glazed in a lovely yellow and golden brown color, NOT to be confused by the more commonly GPO marked brown stoneware pieces. Some of these are easily seen in this photo.
