Here's my mom digging on the second day, using our awesome probe design given to us by some good collecting friends! This day, we found some key bottles, including local medicines, and one DR. CRONKs beer bottle. Made in New York, the brewery that made this beer burnt down in the year 1852! This bottle dates from some point before that. Unfortunately, it is not visible in this photo, as it was broken into around 27 pieces by the backhoe, and they had to be placed into a bucket to be assembled later. We found an old CP oil can for trains on the second day, but it was far too rusty and crushed to be of any good. Too bad... If anyone is interested in any additional photos, I won't clutter up an insulator website with bottle photos, but I'd gladly send you some! |
