I made it with good insulation. I took LEDs for look the control in the box.

The receipt: LPT port data pins: 2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 Erath: I use the 25th pin.

It can light up a LED accross 250 Ohm resistor

The solid-stay relay is very ecpensice, the cheaper way is an opto-adapter, some resistors and triacs in all 8 channels. The program is downloadable from the internet:
