Shiny transparency isn't necessary for a beautiful insulator! This pair of Canadian Porcelain pieces are a good example of some of the beautiful colours that porcelain is available in.

The pieces are a lovely light to medium blue, and were retrieved from a former lineman's garage last year. The signal is marked, but the cable-top is not. Both are Canadian Porcelain products. One of the interesting things about the blue colour of these pieces is the tendancy for the glaze to be sloppy. Especially evident in the signal piece, this sloppy glaze results in darker streaks of glaze all over the insulator, and an especially dark ring of colour around the base. The CP ink stamp on the signal is even crooked, for added character! Both of the pieces are in good shape. The signal is VNM, I can not find a single thing wrong with it. The cable top has the only damage. There is some light chipping consisting of a few small dings along the sharp lower edge of both of the ears. There are also 2 pinpricks in the skirt, and some missed glaze spots. The only other damage is scarcely visible, even while looking at it. It is a 3/8" chip on the base which removes only a thin layer of glaze - not even enough to remove all the colour from the glazed porcelain beneath.

I'm asking $8 U.S. plus shipping for the pair. These are beautiful chunks of porcelain, and they would look great in any small porcelain display. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone whom I've dealt with before.

Best of luck!
