This is where the collecting bug bit me. I was prowling a dirt county road south of Canyon, TX just over two years ago. I came upon this old phone line and plucked a few clear 115's and 106's. I remember thinking that I had heard some folks collect these things. I took them home, did a search for "glass insulators", and the rest, as they say, is history... ;- )
