Here is an authentic early 1930s pole mounted street light that is among Joe Maurath's display/grouping of open-wire, street lights, go-withs and just about anything else that was pole-mounted from yesteryears.

The fixture you see here has an original series-operation streetlight bulb which operates at 13V at 6.6A. This is powered from a 120V 20A 13V transformer that is on the pole's crossarm. Outfitted with porcelain box style cutouts with functionality with fuses in them to protect the lamp load. And with low-voltage porcelain lightning arrestors (yes! they have been *very* functional during real-time lightning blasts in the recent past!!).
