The Pittsburg date code, DEC 23 REC, was reported by Paul Greaves on a Westinghouse strain. That is very late for the date codes and must have been at the time Westinghouse took over the Pittsburg High Voltage Insulator Co. in 1921. The strain also the patent date 9-22-1914 on one end and the Westinghouse logo on the other end. The patent date is a design patent for the strain insulator. This is the first report of a date code with "REC". Other date codes have been reported with the spelling "Rec'd".
