Here's a photo of a small porcelain insulator shaped schnapps cup that was made by Rosenthal Insulator Company in 1913 to commemorate the Telegraph Batallion 7 that was mustered into service in Dresden Germany that year. I understand there were only 500 sets made and they came in a set of 6 with a porcelain pitcher. Notice the schnapps cup has attractive gold leaf inside.

These identical shaped insulator/cups have been found with "High Voltage" warning statements in German and a bolt of lightning on them. They are very similar in size to an actual insulator that has a tiny inner skirt and threads. When I locate the insulator I'll post a photo of them side by side. I've also seen these Advertisement pieces (with Italian writing commemorating Italian insulators) made by and for the Italian (possibly by Richard Ginori) and Australian (made by Japanese insulator mfg co Dulms "Safeguard") markets as well. I may collaborate on a CJOW article about these. Feel free to share with me any additional info insights you might have on these cool go-with collectibles!
