This is a picture of some huge high voltage lines in IL. They run from Palatine to Barrington and have these huge suspension insulators. The poles are at least 75 feet high sticking out of the ground!! I remember these lines being put in back in 2002. i was actually able to watch them attach the insulators and the lines. These lines run along US Route 14 next to the Metra Railroad. These lines are only a block away from my school. I think the voltage of these lines were raised because before these were put in they used 60kv Lapp on these lines.
