This afternoon, utilizing the first oppportunity to do as such in a long time, I decided to get out bottle digging in the ravine behind my house.

Sifting through the garbage disposed of by my house's patronage of 90 years ago, I suddenly, in the edge of my 3 1/2' deep hole, was confronted with a thick, bulky-looking piece of glass protruding from the gritty dump soil. Right away, I knew what the piece was - an insulator! This isn't the first time I recall finding insulators in this ravine. I pulled about a half dozen BROOKFIELD CD 102s, an N.E.G.M.CO. CD 145, and a HEMINGRAY No.21 in Hemi blue out of it in years long past. I suppose there are still more in there!

Here's a picture of my limited finds - a broken "DR. PIERCE'S FAVORITE PRESCRIPTION" bottle from the 1880s or so, sitting next to a classy, but unfortunately broken DWIGHT PATTERN CD 143. Wonder what that was doing there. ;)
