This one of the Northern Pacifics old shop engines that is displayed in Lum park in Brainerd, MN. I did a little research on it and found out that is was built in 1896 by Baldwin. This engine was first owned by the St. Paul and Duluth railroad and acquired by the NP year unknown. Wheel type is 0-6-0T, which I assume means no tender. The water tank is mounted on top of the engine and held 3000 gallons of water. It weighed in at 94.100 pounds total. Originally it was engine no. 71 then No. 927 and finally no. 10 shop locomotive.

Apparently it was used as a shop switcher in the Brainerd Yards and was also used to shuttle between the yard and a RR tie plant that was located in Brainerd. Unfortunately it has kind of been neglected and is not in the greatest shape, but none the less a proud old relic of by gone days.
