Found along one of our favorite lines, these two items are both stamped G.T.R. for Grand Trunk Railroad, but does anyone recognize what they are from? I think the small one is brass since the color inside the threaded cap (see next pic) is that yellow color. It has a bit of green paint still on the top of it. The larger one has a neat green patina that I've seen many times back when I hunted with a metal detector for coins and found old copper pennies with the same "coating". The square top and outer threads looks to me like some sort of a plumbing fixture that could be screwed on or off with a wrench. Did all railways really stamp any part that was large enough to put their logo on? Sheesh! That job could take ages! Anyhow, please view the next pic. Any ideas?
