This is the former Southern Pacific Railroad depot at Brooks, Oregon. It was moved about a mile west of the S. P. main line at Brooks, several years ago to Antique Powerland Museum and restored. Antique Powerland Museum is also the home of the Oregon Electric Railway Museum. A long time member named Harvey Hilands, now deceased, asked us, (The Electric Railway Line Dept.) if we could someday put up a 3 cross arm pole that looked like a photo of the depot that he liked. This summer we finished extending the trolley line to the depot and since we had the poles for the trolley wire, we honored his request and this is the result. Everyone is amazed at how much that "telephone pole" adds to the authenticity. For details about the insulators on it, please go to the next shot. |
