Here is an unusual square pole transformer still in service on the Portland General Electric Co. system near Milwaukie, OR. I have looked over a large part of the PGE system in this area, over the years, and have never seen another square transformer. I have seen them on older installations in Canada and am wondering if this one is a Canadian make. I estimate this pole was put in around 1951. I wish that I could get close enough to it to read the tag on the side, If anyone recognizes the style by brand name, please e-mail me.
