This is where my current tale begins. Poles laying along the road, recently chopped down by a chainsaw. Although this was a different type of hunt, whereas it usually begins with a drop off, a backpack and a grabber pole. A keen eye alerted my good pal Pat Scott of a stretch of poles being removed by a contractor named Bob who is well known to us. (Reference the "Motherlode" tale some 2 years ago [id=51166446] ) Pat, Zach, myself and my brother Tom have all traveled down to this area to retrieve insulators from this long stretch of poles being removed. Even through the heat wave that rocked St. Louis, we traveled down to retrieve the insulators from the chopped down poles. Lucky for my brother and I, we hit the lines just as the weather broke. What better way to break in my new vehicle, less than 24 hours after purchase it was filled with insulators. Next photo: [id=127268537] |
