I maintained this line for a rancher for about 5 years, mainly because it was the last around and I hated to see it go. It was fairly reliable, execpt the time when a well drilling rig passed under it, caught the wire, and ripped out 15 spans. Dial internet was only about 24K, not due to open wire, but the telco digital carrier system serving the area. Then, along comes cell phones, wireless internet and such, the rancher abandoned the line, and asked it be removed. I reluctantly oblidged.
