Ok ...Here's the trunk... The glass was mostly ho hum... chipped up aqua Hemingraty signals, ugly little mud things, but what is that big frost popped lilyshell multipart......???? OH MY GOD... Its a Victor Crosstop M-4338!!!! I quickly checked and yes all the pieces were there . The insulator had been left in the trunk in nearly mint condition when the car was towed there in the late 1970s and the frost and weather had split the top apart, This insulator has the small Victor R=00 marking making it unique! The other known specimens have the big insulator logo marking....The junk yard owner told me the man who owned the car passed away in the 70s and the family had the car towed away . The former owners house had also been torn down so we will never know for sure the full story on this insulator. there was evidence of somthing having once been clamped on the top so it likely came from a substation. |
