I am right under it now. The secondary wiring is just a rat's nest. I am still blowing it up and trying to figure it out. The transformer arrangement is special and may be why it is still in service, nobody can or wants to replace it as is! The arrangement is known as a booster transformer, where the small transformer is also known as a "kicker" or "teaser" and adds its secondary voltage output, 120 or 240, depending on how it's wired, to the primary voltage causing an increase to recover voltage losses normally found on the system. Are you still with me? |
