This power pole is located along the railroad track across from my house in Portland, OR. It carried two 12,500 volt power crossarms and an abandoned electric railway telephone crossarm with bare empty pins. As a lineman, I got tired of looking at those empty pins without the glass and decided to do something about it. My wife caught this shot of me installing some common beehive glass on those ugly empty pins. About 4 years later, the power company scaled the line down to 1 power crossarm, the center one in this photo, and took my glass with them! The pole is still in use today, minus my insulators !! UPDATE 3/8/09 The pole has been replaced with a new one! And I don't live there anymore. There!, now I am not a liar.
