A closer view of this unusual pole. The old cedar "stick" is certainly showing it's age! It is charred by some out of control brush fire long ago. The top is rotted out. The cross arm is bent and so is the mounting bolt. I am not sure of the insulator make but I think it is an ordinary Brookfield. The pole sits in sort of a "power line alley" and a 1911 2 circuit 57kv. steel tower looms in the background. A 115 kv. line on tall poles is nearby and also a couple of 12.5 kv. lines. A major substation is not far away, explaining the many power lines here.
