A close up of the M-3725 "Fred Locke Freak" kitsulator I obtained from Mike Spadafora. This was the first large all porcelain 3 part made by Fred in 1903. It was a kind of a mistake due to the small size of the middle shell which caused excessive dirt to collect in the limited space under it. This was designed when this technology was in it's infancy and the M-3725 makes me want to quote the late porcelain insulator expert, Jack Tod, who said, "everything Fred Locke made tends to stand out at a glance." Note that I have it mounted on a wooden thread pin which fits exactly into our Christmas tree stand. I can spin it around if needed but must return the stand to it's intended use every December! Or else!
