Mike 'Rain" Spadafora is finishing up another scarce multipart from the old Borel line. Mike is one of the foremost hunters of scarce multiparts in N. America. He starts by researching the line and then exploring every possible pole site. He then digs or rakes up every broken fragment, packs them out and tediously re-assembles the pieces, cementing them together with a very strong body filler. The finished shells are re-cemented with Portland cement like the original. Final touch up with acrylic paints is the most tedious and time consuming process of all and in my case, was left up to me...something to do when I retire! The sandy tan and swirly brown glazes of the Fred Locke and New Lexington multiparts in the 1903-04 era are extremely dramatic. There will be few or no more of these available in the future, you can bet on that!
