Like my other photos here, this one is another of Joe's open-wire. It was taken while the snow was getting really heavy, having lots of weight and water content to it. That's when it really sticks to everything! The snow was still coming down and by morning the wires were really drooping, having nearly an inch diameter of snow and ice accumulated on them! You can imagine how the real open wire lines of yesteryears suffered! When Joe built this line back in the 80s he did so with authentic "vintage-grade" materials and never had a wire break yet! And that is despite the numerous tree limbs, etc., that have fallen on his line work.
