These 2 Are In Use

These 2 insulators are still being used along the Long Island Railroad (L.I.R.R.). The wire on one of them, is lying on the crossarm, and probably grounding out when it rains. I took this photo on January 30th, 2005.

Update: I went by this railroad pole last week (April-2011) and these 2 insulators are still exactly as they appear in this 6-year old photograph. They raise and lower the crossing gates, which are nearby.
