This is a piece I bought in Weymouth, MA last fall at a yard sale for less than a dollar! The lady who had this insulator had about two dozen more insulators but no more CD 273's. These insulators were all wrapped in a box beneath her table when Joe and I pulled up. She and a couple neighbors were still setting up (it was about 9AM) and upon my eagle-eye spotting the shimmering of aqua glass peeking through yellow-faded newspapers, I *had* to have a look! On top I uncovered some Hemi-19's in aqua but with permission from the owner I found this piece among several more cool items! Apparently, her late husband worked in Quincy for the phone company and these insulators were stored for many years in their attic. The wrapped papers were dated 1970-1971. She said he saved only the more unusual ones! She added that there may be a few more boxes of them. And yes, I have her phone number! |
