This one speaks for itself with the very nice glass poised for this photo session. Yeah, the days of seeing these wonderful insulators along open-wire pole lines must have been incredible! My mentors are Joe Maurath, Jr. and Brent Berger. I haven't corresponded with Brent all that much to be honest. But I must say that Joe and Brent were born under the same moon and star configuration since they are so much identical! Joe is AKA "East Coast Brent" and Brent "West Coast Joe" as far as I am concerned! Those two guys really lived the good life seeing and growing up with open-wire telephone lines on completely different coasts! (Joe in Massachusetts and Brent in Oregon/Washington). And they were getting some cool jewels from those old lines as well! Both should be given some sort of award for their ICON contributions (and their very generous sharing elsewhere within the hobby) since "they were there" while telephone open-wire was still alive and well...and that these two fellows know how to share their remembrances via ICON, insulator magazines and elsewhere!!
