Blizzard of 2005: Crossover Pole, Joe's Display

Here is one of Joe's rearmost backyard poles with all sorts of insulators, pins and brackets on it. It is a crossover pole whereby 16 open-wire communications wires are transferred at a 90 degree angle to a subsequent pole line. The upper crossarm shown carries the 120V for several of his functional street lights on display. The Line Materials box-style cutout has a low amperage fuse in it for protection and also serves as a disconnect when working on the connected lights. Joe built most of what you see here during the mid 1980s and all of it is functional as described within other photos here on ICON.
