All of Joe's street lights around his yard are functional and recreate the ambiance of the originals which pretty much became extinct by the later 1960s. Joe comments that the best "feeling" he recalls about growing up with incandescent street lights was the peaceful mood that they cast. Especially around freshly fallen snow. I have tried to capture the best of these nights-gone-by as Joe fondly remembers them. He has a nicely lighted display of these period lights along his driveway and in his backyard which is his best recreation of "what was and what will never be again". This applies to his open-wire pole line that is adorned with insulators and various vintage go-withs. A lot of this can be seen within other photos previously posted by me and him within this folder.
